Our mission is to promote and protect the freedom of religion or belief in Sri Lanka through dedicated efforts in education, research, advocacy, and campaigns.

MinorMatters is a national campaign committed to promoting religious harmony and safeguarding the Freedom of Religion or Belief in Sri Lanka. We focus on building literacy around religious freedom, documenting rights violations, and advocating for stronger protections for religious freedom.

Launch of MinorMatters

We strive to promote and protect Freedom of Religion or Belief in Sri Lanka. Our mission is to empower efforts that advance reconciliation, counter extremism, and foster coexistence, ensuring a society where Freedom of Religion or Belief is respected and valued.

MinorMatters was recognised and awarded the Intercultural Innovation Award (IIA) by the UN Alliance of Civilizations and the BMW Group in 2019.

Launch of Aiyo Alice

"Aiyo Alice" is a mobile game developed by MinorMatters to teach young people in Sri Lanka about FoRB (Freedom of Religion or Belief). The goal is to stop violence and disagreements by involving young people, showing them different opinions, and helping them think carefully about the negative impact of extreme ideas.

Digital Citizen is a trilingual campaign that promotes ethical and responsible behavior online. In particular, through this campaign we educate youth on their digital rights and responsibilities and engage in creative initiatives to advance digital citizenship in Sri Lanka.
