At approximately 11 a.m., while the pastor was conducting a Bible study at the church for a few congregants, a police officer arrived at the premises and told him to attend a meeting with the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Dikwella Police Station. The pastor arrived at the Police Station at approximately 11:30 a.m. and met with the OIC. 02 Buddhist monks and 03 other individuals were also present; however, the pastor did not recognise them as being from the village. The OIC told the pastor that he had received several complaints from Buddhist monks and villagers against the pastor’s religious worship activities and falsely claimed that the pastor’s activities were a breach of peace. He then told the pastor to stop his worship activities and relocate elsewhere.
