OIC discriminates against pastor

March 12, 2019

On the 11th of March, the pastor was asked to be present at the Eravur Police Station for an inquiry concerning a complaint lodged against him by a group of villagers. The pastor arrived at the Eravur Police Station at approximately 10 a.m. for the inquiry the following day. The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and 05 women from the village were also present. The villagers had lodged malicious complaints against the pastor and his religious worship activities and made several false allegations. The OIC sided with the villagers and admonished the pastor. He then proceeded to mock the pastor’s faith and threatened to place the pastor under arrest if any more complaints were received. He further claimed that the Christian place of worship was illegal and did not allow the pastor the opportunity to defend himself.
