The 06 Christians and 05 villagers arrived at the Marawila Police Station at approximately 11 a.m. to sign the statement in the presence of the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Minor Crimes Division. The villagers were accompanied by a lawyer who spoke to the Christians harshly and encouraged his clients to drive them out of the village. The OIC of the Minor Crimes Division along with the lawyer then attempted to compel the Christians to sign the statement according to terms not previously agreed to with the HQI. The Christians, however, refused to sign the statement.
