At around 09:30 a.m. the pastor called the police a third time and 05 officers from the Batticaloa Police Station arrived at around 10 a.m. and escorted the Christians to the police station. The Headquarters Inspector (HQI) called the pastor, the owner of the premises, the Hindu priest, and the chairman of kovil into his office at approximately 10:20 a.m. The Hindu priest made false allegations against the premises used for Christian worship activities, claiming that it was land belonging to the kovil. The owner of the premises, however, produced clear title deeds to the land. The HQI admonished the Hindu priest and the chairman for their actions and claimed he would have them arrested if they disrupted the Christian worship activities in the future.
