False allegations levelled against Christian place of worship

July 06, 2018

04 officers of the Attanagalla Pradeshiya Sabhawa arrived at the pastor’s premises at approximately 10 a.m. and spoke to the pastor’s wife about a petition they had received, signed by around 100 villagers, claiming falsely that the church was causing a disturbance. The officers of the Pradeshiya Sabhawa then told the pastor’s wife to stop their worship activities in the village and relocate elsewhere. The pastor’s wife informed the Pradeshiya Sabha officers that the church does not use any sound amplification equipment and invited them into the church premises to investigate. The church, in fact, does not use any sound amplification equipment.
