Buddhist monks attempt to intimidate pastor

December 04, 2018

08 Buddhist monks from nearby temples arrived to speak to the pastor at his home at approximately 04 p.m. The pastor invited them in and they demanded that he withdraw the complaint he had lodged against the monks. They threatened to make things difficult for him if he refused to comply. They further demanded that he stop his religious worship activities and leave the village. They claimed that the village was a “Buddhist village” and that Christians should go elsewhere if they wished to engage in their religious worship activities. The pastor called the Bakamuna Police after the monks left. 02 police officers arrived at around 05 p.m. to take his statement.
